Apple's Data Collection System team develops prototype hardware systems that are fundamental to delivering future products & features. The team is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to create high performance hardware systems supporting Computer Vision, Machine Learning, and Photography applications that break new ground in Technology and User Experience. Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Electronics experience in processor peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, storage, high speed serial interfaces, and power supply design).
  • Strong working knowledge of Signal and Power Integrity and protocols for PCB layout and construction.
  • Experience with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters.

Nice To Haves

  • Electronics experience in SOC’s, microcontrollers, microprocessors (ARM), FPGA’s.
  • Camera electrical protocols (e.g., MIPI, LVDS, SDI, DP, HDMI) and sensors or transducers.
  • Taking designs from concept through manufacturing & test.
  • Performing mechanical assembly for quick prototypes.
  • Bring-up/debug & validation of digital designs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating cross-functionally with various hardware and software teams to define prototype hardware to evaluate new technologies and features.
  • Leading deliverables to align with project goals.
  • Ensuring thorough and precise documentation of various steps from concept to architecture and through manufacturing and use.
