About The Position

The Senior Workforce and Career Development Specialist will play a crucial role in the CDC's Career Ready Program, focusing on developing and implementing talent management and career development plans for the Biological & Physical Science Career Community. This position aims to enhance workforce preparedness for future emergencies through strategic policy setting and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Requirements

• US Citizenship is required.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, including managing long and short range plans for projects or programs.
• Experience conducting analysis of programs to improve effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
• Experience providing advice and recommendations on policies and procedures.
• A college or university degree from an accredited institution.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in public health or health promotion.
• Familiarity with federal employment policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Senior Workforce and Career Development Specialist under the Chief, Career Community Support Team.
• Develop, maintain, and implement the talent management and career development plan for the assigned career community.
• Provide a central focus for an enterprise approach to employee development by integrating programs and processes into long-range business plans and talent management requirements.
• Directly support the assigned Career Community Leader and the Career Community Panel.
• Collaborate and partner with internal and external stakeholders and serve as a technical expert in the assigned career community.
