Serves as a subject matter expert by guiding team members, training new and current employees, and driving process improvements to maximize recovery outcomes. Maintains advanced knowledge of industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in workers' compensation subrogation. Promotes a positive team environment and effectively handles unexpected challenges. Technical Function/ Responsibilities: Advanced Subrogation Process- Independently handle the most complex and high-exposure subrogation claims, including those involving multi-party litigation, significant injuries, or disputed liability. Oversee the investigation, negotiation, and settlement process, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and company policies. Strategic Case Assessment- Evaluate claims for subrogation potential, develop recovery strategies, and make recommendations for arbitration, litigation, or closure. Lead case reviews and provide expert input on challenging files. Mentorship and Training- Serve as a resource and mentor, providing training, technical guidance, and support. Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to the professional development of the team. Regulatory & Industry Expertise- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of workers compensation laws, subrogation statutes, and industry trends. Advise management on regulatory changes and their impact on operations. Customer Service and Communication Skills - Requires accomplished communication skills with a strong phone presence in extensive communication with insurance company clients, attorneys, law enforcement agencies and insureds. Must be able to handle difficult conversations and exhibit conflict management skills. All communication must maintain a reputation of professionalism, courtesy and respect. Assists internal and external customers with the resolution of moderately complex questions with little or no assistance from management. Team Focused and Goal Oriented - Must work within a team environment in a positive and cooperative manner. Must be production and results oriented and consistently perform at or above given goals to include recovery, claim quality and resolution timeliness. Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in workers compensation insurance claims and subrogation with a proven track record of handling complex cases and achieving superior recovery results.
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience within a claims or subrogation team.
  • In-depth knowledge of subrogation principles, workers compensation statutes, and inter-company arbitration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) are a plus.
  • Advanced computer and claims system proficiency.
  • Basic accounting knowledge for accurate computations.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; advanced degree or relevant certifications
  • CSRP Designation Preferred
