A Senior Workday Report Writer is responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating advanced reports and dashboards in the Workday system to support business operations. This individual must have extensive experience with Workday reporting tools, as well as knowledge and comfort of HR, payroll, and finance processes and data. The ideal candidate should possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills, be highly organized, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The role requires the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather report requirements and provide recommendations for improvements. Maintains awareness of current trends in HRIS technologies, training, materials, and resources with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and the application of key technologies. Participates in user group meetings and conferences as required. Ability to interpret data, analyze results, and use techniques that tell the story behind the data. Maintains a high level of interaction with global business stakeholders to continually enhance/improve all aspects of reporting. Take initiative with a proactive approach and continuous improvement mindset. Identify, distinguish, and act upon issues, problems, and opportunities. Apply critical thinking and assessment skills to analyze problems and data as part of the development of corrective actions and recommendations. Troubleshoot security-related concerns that impact data visibility for business users. Understand business processes and have the ability to translate that knowledge into actionable insights in reports. Accountable for proactively identifying and resolving data issues, producing ad hoc reports and queries, and analyzing and interpreting data to support decision-making. Responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining complex report-writing solutions and dashboards in Workday HRIS. Continuously improve and optimize existing reports to increase efficiency and effectiveness Helps to develop and maintain a data dictionary. Train and mentor users, functional leads, and other staff members. Occasionally provides after-hour and weekend support as needed.
