About The Position

The Senior Windows Systems Administrator at UW Medicine IT Services is responsible for leading technical projects, providing support for enterprise servers, and ensuring the reliability and performance of systems that support various healthcare institutions. This role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and maintaining high technical standards in a values-based work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration, analysis, and programming
• 6+ years of progressively responsible systems administration experience
• 4+ years of technical experience in Windows systems administration
• Extensive experience working with teams in application development and support
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with personnel of various technical backgrounds
• Experience participating in IT projects
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Performing the role of technical lead on project teams
• Guiding production, development, testing, and training environments
• Providing primary support of enterprise servers at UW Medicine
• Ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and performance of servers
• Maintaining a high level of technical competency and documentation
• Training and mentoring other team members
