About The Position

Edgewater is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support a major national laboratory. The requirements vary in range and scope, from single-system administration and user support to highly complex, cutting-edge technologies. Specific examples of these requirements include operating system and application administration and modification, cybersecurity, scripting and code development, high-performance computing (HPC), knowledge of hardware specifications, cloud maintenance, disaster recovery support, implementation and maintenance, scripting, programming, and computational scheduling. As a Senior Systems Administrator specializing in Windows Operating Systems and PowerShell, the candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our physical and virtual server environments. Your expertise will be essential in proactively monitoring, maintaining, and repairing server systems to meet the demands of our organization and clients. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues related to hardware, operating systems, and applications, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal functionality. Collaboration will be key as they work closely with customers, subject matter experts, and architects to analyze, evaluate, and optimize systems in alignment with business needs. You shall contribute to process development and system improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for enhancements that drive operational excellence. Additionally, you will coordinate with Project and Program Managers to ensure effective problem resolution and user satisfaction, making informed recommendations for major systems installations as necessary.

Requirements

  • BS in relevant discipline plus 2 minimum years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience is applicable
  • Ability to obtain DOE Q security clearance
  • Must be US Citizen
  • Candidate must reside in the Albuquerque as onsite work is required
  • Proficiency in developing and automating system administration tasks using PowerShell scripting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration and deployment projects.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex system issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2019).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
