The position is for a Windows Server Admin on a contract basis for 6+ months with a possible extension of hire, located in Abbott Park, IL.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Windows Server Administration.
  • Extensive troubleshooting skills on Windows OS related issues and performance issues.
  • Good knowledge on Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Terminal services and Microsoft Windows Failover Cluster.
  • Hands-on experience administering HP C 7000 chassis, rack and blade server generation 1 to latest.
  • Experience with monitoring daily operation of Windows servers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Blade Logic, Ansible, ServiceNow, Big Panda.
  • Knowledge on Nutanix, VxRail, Powerflex will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall operation of VMware ESXi 6.x, 7.x, Vcenter 7.x and HCI Systems (Nutanix, VxRail, Powerflex) and Windows server 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022 based systems.
  • Extensive troubleshooting skills on Windows OS related issues and performance issues.
  • Good knowledge on Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, Terminal services and Microsoft Windows Failover Cluster.
  • Hands-on experience administering HP C 7000 chassis, rack and blade server generation 1 to latest.
  • Monitor daily operation of Windows servers (e.g. space usage, CPU, memory).
  • Recommend and install software upgrades, patches, and firmware upgrades as needed for hardware software as well as OS.
  • Work closely with Engineering team, network team, storage team, application teams and business owners to provide assistance, support, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor systems performance issues and address problems in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Evaluate current environment and recommend future technical direction to enhance.
  • Install, configure and maintain Disaster recovery solution.

  • Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $90,000 to $110,000.
