GDIT seeks a highly motivated and experienced Senior Windows Security Administrator to support a federal civilian program. The position is remote and full-time, requiring expertise in maintaining secure operating systems and managing Active Directory permissions. The role involves analyzing operations, performing vulnerability scans, and providing day-to-day support for Windows server security issues.

  • Maintain the enterprise server Windows 2022 secure operating systems base image ensuring consistency in baseline OS maintenance.
  • Configure Active Directory permissions, roles, and groups.
  • Configure, manage and remediate issues related to Active Directory/group Policy.
  • Analyze day-to-day operations and write scripts to improve daily tasks.
  • Analyze GPOs to apply security policies.
  • Perform vulnerability scans using leading scanners.
  • Analyze and track security vulnerabilities for mitigation on virtual Windows servers.
  • Analyze firewall rules and rulesets for access issues.
  • Assist in Windows server upgrades as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day support for Windows server security issues.
  • Perform vulnerability management on virtual servers and systems.
  • Perform packet captures with Wireshark as needed.
  • Work with other teams to troubleshoot security issues.
  • Assist users with permissions issues and account lockouts.
  • Respond to tickets in ticketing system and enter tickets to resolve security issues.
  • Complete system security checklists, patches, upgrades, configuration, troubleshooting and documentation of equipment required to maintain the environments.
  • Assist developers with installation and permissions issues.
  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory & Group Policy.
  • Experience configuring security settings on Microsoft Windows Server 2019-2022.
  • Experience with security access services, products, and protocols such as MFA, Kerberos, VPNs, and endpoint security tools.
  • Experience in cryptographic protocols, digital certificates, encryption standards, and TLS.
  • Experience in implementing remote access solutions.
  • Experience with security benchmarks (CIS, DISA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of industry-standard security tools, frameworks, and best practices including MITRE CVEs, security benchmarks (CIS, DISA etc.) and NIST standards.
  • Ability to install and configure hosted applications and services on Windows servers.
  • Experience using Windows PowerShell.
  • Skillful time management and organizational skills to set and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Must be self-starter willing to research technical issues that are unfamiliar.
  • Strong work ethic and an active desire to learn.
  • Hold an 8570.01 security certification.
  • Experience with Azure.
  • Experience with ServiceNow.
