Requirements

• A minimum of three years of proven experience in wholesale dairy buying, with a strong preference for backgrounds in sizable retail or wholesale environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the grocery and dairy sector, including market trends, pricing tactics, and supply chain logistics and vendor contacts.
• Exceptional negotiation and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering supplier relationships and collaborating effectively with internal teams and vendors.
• Proficient in data analysis and market trend evaluation to inform strategic purchasing decisions.
• Outstanding organizational capabilities, able to manage numerous projects and deadlines efficiently.
• A bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a relevant field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement purchasing strategies for various dairy segments to assure excellence, cost-efficiency, and supplier reliability.
• Analyze market trends and conduct competitive analyses to pinpoint opportunities for negotiation and innovative sourcing.
• Forge and nurture lasting relationships with suppliers, while exploring new avenues for partnerships and sourcing.
• Collaborate with merchandising and inventory management teams to guarantee product accessibility, prompt delivery, and optimal stock levels.
• Evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with our quality standards and delivery schedules.
• Regularly assess product range and performance, adjusting buying approaches as needed.
• Partner with marketing and sales departments to identify promotional opportunities and spearhead product introductions.
