About The Position

Chromalloy is a global engineering & solutions company. We are a leading provider of aftermarket parts, repairs, and solutions that safely & reliably extend the life of aircraft engines and gas turbines. We develop, manufacture and repair critical turbine components for a range of engine platforms. Our solutions support the engines running the aerospace, energy and defense industries around the world. The Production Engineer owns all welding, brazing, and heat‑treat processes, driving equipment performance, process maturity, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role provides technical leadership on the shop floor—resolving production issues, supporting NPI programs, executing root‑cause corrective actions, and ensuring robust, repeatable joining processes. Welding and joining processes at Chromalloy Georgia include Resistance, TIG, Laser, Electron Beam welding, and furnace brazing of advanced alloys used in turbine engine component manufacturing and repair. The engineer develops new methods, tools, and equipment upgrades to improve quality, yield, and efficiency. As the process owner, they create and maintain all production documentation, including WQPs/WPSs, and lead initiatives focused on yield improvement, rework reduction, and process innovation. Due to government regulation only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.

Requirements

  • BS Engineering (Mechanical, Welding, Metallurgical, or Aerospace)
  • 8 years of engineering experience in welding, brazing, or heat-treat processing
  • Proficiency with CAD software (Siemens NX preferred)
  • Knowledge of gas turbine design methodologies yielding cost effective, producible design
  • Project management
  • Experience in industrial specifications

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of various measuring techniques including CMM, gages, metallurgical inspection, and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Apply CI tools and concepts on product/process subsystems or manufacturing systems.
  • Optimize the production process, product design using a robust lean problem-solving methodology, with quantifiable impact to business metrics.
  • Develop KPIs to effectively manage process and product outcomes.
  • Utilize project management skills to lead assigned projects/programs to successful completion considering technical, budgetary, manpower and schedule requirements.
  • Own technical aspects of assigned components and or processes from initial concept through all manufacturing stages.
  • Identify, develop, and implement tooling/equipment improvements. Troubleshoot process/production problems and implement actions/solutions, monitor sustainability of actions, and report out results.
  • Prepare accurate written technical reports, specifications, procedures, and manuals.
