About The Position

The Senior Welder/Fabricator Technician is responsible for performing advanced welding, fabrication, and maintenance work to support facility operations and equipment reliability. This role ensures high-quality workmanship while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and contributing to the overall functionality of the facility. Requirements

  • Proven experience as a welder/fabricator in a maintenance or industrial environment
  • Proficiency in MIG, TIG, stick, and arc welding techniques; fabrication certification required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
  • Working knowledge of general building trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting
  • Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with maintenance management systems (IWMS preferred)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for documentation and coordination
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain required site credentials (e.g., TWIC, JaxPort badge if applicable)
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders or lifts and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Willingness to work overtime, respond to emergency call-ins, and travel between sites as needed
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance

  • Experience supporting critical facility systems (e.g., HVAC, generators, UPS, fire suppression)

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced welding tasks, including MIG, TIG, stick, and plasma cutting to repair, modify, and fabricate components and equipment
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and sketches to fabricate parts that meet operational specifications
  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and repair work on facility equipment and company assets
  • Conduct routine building inspections and daily rounds to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
  • Support maintenance and operation of critical systems, including UPS, generators, HVAC, and fire/life safety systems
  • Assist with general facility maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing, drywall, painting, and basic electrical work
  • Collaborate with internal technicians and external vendors to complete maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
  • Participate in special projects, facility improvements, and meeting/event setup as needed
  • Utilize IWMS or similar systems to track, manage, and document work orders and completed tasks
  • Maintain compliance with all safety procedures, including PPE usage and lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols
  • Provide on-call support for emergencies on a rotating schedule and respond to urgent maintenance needs
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strong communication with team members and stakeholders
