We are seeking a Senior Web Developer/Programmer to provide support for the Collaboration for Observational and Numerical Thermosphere with Integrated Geospace Orbits (CONTIGO) project, which has the goal to build a flexible, open source, end-to-end framework for orbit prediction and uncertainty characterization based on thermospheric nowcasting. A major effort of this project involves collecting and building a database from multiple sources of orbit data and then integrating these data sources into an analysis and modeling pipeline. The resulting data will be used for data assimilative modeling and, where appropriate, made available to the community. The selected individual will assist with collecting the data, build the database and, as time allows, will help with building the pipeline according to best practices. These tools will be built using the Heliocloud or other appropriate cloud-based platform, with appropriate privacy restrictions for proprietary or sensitive data, while also ensuring team members at GSFC and at other institutions are able to access the database and pipeline. This is a part-time position supporting NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. Hybrid support is preferred, particularly for standing meetings every other week.
