About The Position

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager for water infrastructure engineering projects. Our preferred office locations for this role are Raleigh, Atlanta or Duluth. We are also open to considering candidates for our secondary locations in Charlotte or Winston-Salem, NC. The role involves serving as a senior project manager for water and wastewater treatment plant projects, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects using earned value management principles. The position requires supervision of multi-discipline teams of engineers, engineering technicians, GIS analysts, designers, CAD staff, sub-consultants, etc. The project manager will coordinate assigned work to ensure continuity, consistency, quality, and on-time delivery. The ability to work independently and mentor junior staff is essential. Effective communication with clients, client’s staff, regulatory agencies, and within project teams is crucial. Participation in business development activities including engineering scope and fee preparation, proposal preparation, and marketing activities is also expected, along with a commitment to client service for both internal and external clients.

Requirements

  • 12+ years’ experience in water/wastewater engineering and project management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
  • North Carolina or Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in hydraulics, water/wastewater treatment, industry standards, etc.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a project team and oversee excellent quality of work on time and on budget
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
