About The Position

REC is partnering with a well-established, nationally recognized engineering consulting firm to identify a Senior Project Engineer specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure. This individual will play a key role in delivering complex pipeline and conveyance projects across the Western U.S., with a strong emphasis on Colorado and neighboring markets. 🌟 The Opportunity This role blends technical leadership, project execution, and client engagement. You’ll be instrumental in driving project success while helping expand market presence and strengthen long-term client relationships. You’ll collaborate with senior leadership and multidisciplinary teams to grow the firm’s water practice, while mentoring staff and contributing to strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • PE license (Colorado and/or California, or ability to obtain)
  • 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering, focused on water/wastewater infrastructure
  • Proven success managing projects, clients, and teams
  • Strong background in planning, design, and construction oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business development and client growth
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in pipeline/conveyance systems is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of water/wastewater conveyance and pipeline projects
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget
  • Develop proposals, statements of qualifications, and project execution strategies
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with public sector utility clients
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to engineers and support staff
  • Support business development efforts and identify new project opportunities
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards and internal procedures
  • Stay current on industry trends and innovations, recommending improvements where applicable
  • Represent the firm through industry events and professional organizations
