Role description: Arcadis is currently searching for a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join our team. This hybrid role is based out of our Indianapolis location. n this role, you will utilize your expertise and technical knowledge of water/wastewater evaluations, design & construction to serve as a Lead Technical Designer, Task Manager and/or Project Manager on local projects. This is a ‘hands-on’ role with an expectation of leading tasks and projects, managing staff, working directly with clients, and participating in business development activities. Role accountabilities : In this role, you will be a Project Manager and team leader who will utilize their technical knowledge and experience to develop municipal water/wastewater projects, lead the successful execution and delivery of those projects and develop the team’s overall capabilities. This position leads projects from planning to design and construction of water/wastewater treatment plants/facilities, pump stations, stormwater systems, and distribution/collection systems, as well as creating construction documents/specifications and providing engineering services during construction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field of study
• 10 years of progressively responsible experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Staff development and supervision skills; including mentoring junior-level staff.
• Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
• Client relationship skills: including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a successful record of accomplishment, delivering a variety of engineering projects that meet or exceed the expectations of the client.
• Ability to travel 10% - 20%.
• Experience in water/wastewater plant/facility design and construction administration/oversight projects.
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and approving project drawings, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or an MBA
• 15 years of progressively responsible experience
• Secondary certification (W/WW Operators License, BCEE, PMP, LEED, ENV SP)
• Active participation in regional (local/state) and/or national professional associations

Responsibilities

• Develops project scope, budgets, and delivery schedules for each assignment, and is responsible for ensuring tasks/projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
• Participates in industry conferences/associations at the local, state, and/or national level via committee memberships, presentations, and/or leadership roles.
• Participates in marketing and business development activities for the water/wastewater market in the region. This includes the development of proposals.
• Works with other senior staff to manage clients in the region.
• Coordinates execution of projects with other disciplines.
• Develops small to large design projects from inception to completion.
• Prepares construction packages (including all deliverables) for the engineering, procurement, and construction of water wastewater systems for clients.
• Creates and manages cost estimates and project schedules.
• Performs detailed engineering calculations & analysis and utilizes design software to solve complex issues. CADD software knowledge is a plus, but CADD drafting is not required as part of this position.
• Supervises and supports the work of others and mentors junior level engineer & design/drafting technical staff.
• Maintains Arcadis’ standards and specifications for municipal water/wastewater design & construction projects.

• The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
