About The Position

AECOM’s Water practice is Ranked #1 globally by Engineering News Record, and includes architecture, planning, design, engineering, project/program management, construction management, asset management, systems integration, digital solutions, and advisory services. The Michigan Water market is one of the Midwest Division’s largest states, with a growing need for services to be positioned to capture opportunities as well as deliver projects that advance the state’s water infrastructure. AECOM is seeking a self-starter and experienced Senior Water / Wastewater Director to drive growth and serve clients, primarily focused in Detroit Metro-based . This external facing leader will represent AECOM in the marketplace and oversee business development, sales, strategy development and execution, and project delivery. The right candidate must be a growth-minded and client-service oriented leader who can work collaboratively with other senior leadership, recruit and mentor staff in a fast pace setting to support business development, perform marketing, capture management and communications functions and lead strategy discussions, and project delivery to clients. The ideal person must be able to verbally and visually communicate their ideas clearly and convincingly to peers and senior leadership. The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to: Help build a strong and thriving culture in AECOM Water that promotes sustainability and innovation while preserving technical excellence in our core competencies. In collaboration with senior leadership, develop and own the long-term vision for sustained growth of AECOM’s Water / Wastewater / Conveyance practices across the state of Michigan. Collaborate with the senior leadership team in the US West Water on delivering strategy and driving growth initiatives throughout the region, including identifying strategic market opportunities, growth strategy, and associated personnel/skills planning. Manage the capture process for designated key pursuits to ensure best practices are being adhered to and continuously improve capture results. Serve as a client account manager (CAM) for designated key clients. Serve as project manager for Water projects in the region. Represent AECOM as an industry leader in relevant industry organizations and at events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.
  • Experience in business development, and strong existing relationships with Water clients across the state of Michigan, including southeast Michigan.
  • Project Management experience working on water / wastewater projects.
  • Professional Engineering license for Michigan.
