The primary responsibility of the water resources project manager will be to provide in-house leadership and guidance as it relates to water resources services as well as delivering projects for clients related to stormwater work and growing the external visibility of HDR’s Stormwater Program. They will function as a liaison and coordinator for staff across different sections and offices to deliver projects and proposals with innovation, applicable standards and relevant resumes included. They will work closely with the project engineers to prepare both planning level and design level projects including drainage reports, and contract/bid documents; and work collaboratively with other design disciplines to provide integrated solutions and business development opportunities. They will also be required to manage projects and provide production support on projects in addition to business development responsibilities. This role is responsible for identifying and executing, with teams of staff, the multiple HDR services needed by municipal and utility operated stormwater programs throughout the Missouri and Kansas market as well as internal services including, but not limited to: Participating in capturing planning processes and/or driving business development opportunities, Helping with recruiting, Participating in professional organizations and presenting at conferences, Fostering relationships with local water resources clients and professionals, Driving and participating in regional water resources related initiatives, Leading comprehensive stormwater management and master planning, Understanding state stormwater regulations and manuals, Applying asset management applications and tools, Design of water resources management facilities, Flood Risk Reduction, Floodplain Mapping, Storm sewers, Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI), Best management practices (BMPs) for water quality treatment, Leading watershed planning, Applying hydrologic and stormwater/drainage modeling.
