About The Position

Stantec is seeking a leader with a strong background in water resources to lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and planners in our Twin Cities metro area. The role of the Senior Resource Team Leader (SRTL) for Water Resources is to manage and support our front-line supervisors with responsibility for mentoring and facilitating their professional growth and overseeing an entire group of water resources professionals. This is a critical role in helping staff meet key performance indicators as well as providing opportunities for team members to achieve their career and business objectives. This role will report directly to a member of the regional leadership team. As the SRTL you will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities along with a commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service is paramount.

Requirements

  • A degree or diploma in a discipline related to water resources (e.g. engineering, environmental science, environmental policy, etc.)
  • Minimum 10 years of proven staff/leadership experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in water resources engineering, science, or planning.
  • Strong people leadership and management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, mentoring, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem solving, organization, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of water resources professionals.
  • Promote Stantec's Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) SaferTogether culture, and implementation of and compliance with HSSE policy.
  • Set, manage, and monitor performance and career development goals.
  • Provide guidance and support to direct reports with the development of priorities for them and their teams.
  • Coordinate with team leads on staff workload, availability, and resourcing.
  • Support team leads in achieving their teams' utilization and project delivery goals.
  • Facilitate communication with other teams, business centers, regions, and business operating units.
  • Coordinate appropriate level of support for hard backlog and business development opportunities.
  • Support members of the team in achieving their sales/marketing & business development/client relationship development goals.
  • Work with team leads to address personnel or project issues as they arise.
  • Provide supervisory management to team leads and support their teams.
  • Meet regularly with team leads to review and address current and forecasted workload.
  • Lead the mid-year and annual performance review process for direct reports.
  • Contribute to technical project work within your area of expertise.
  • Collaborate with technical leads on the team's technical advancement, quality processes, project delivery, and project management.
  • Assist with forecasting and achievement of key financial targets.
  • Assist leadership with staff onboarding, integration and collaboration between disciplines, sectors and regions.
  • Support career development for individual team members.
