Primary Role Implements the complex day-to-day management of personnel or multiple operations or programs to continually meet all applicable environmental regulations. Provides technical direction on water quality, treatment, permitting, and regulatory compliance issues. Implement Company policy on water quality and related environmental matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum four (4) years experience in water treatment operations.
  • Bachelor or equivalent in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science or related discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge of water treatment practice is required.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of water quality and environmental regulations affecting the business.
  • Must have strong familiarity with various water treatment technologies and instrumentation used in the business.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and propose viable solutions.
  • Regulatory knowledge of proper lab analytical testing methods.
  • Must understand principles of water treatment and be able to troubleshoot systems.
  • Strong project management skills (e.g. planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and reporting on project activities).
  • A strong sense of organization and schedule, ability to self-direct and prioritize many often-non-sequential tasks on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Detail-Oriented: Conduct thorough analyses and evaluations and implement timely decisions and recommendations.
  • Independent Worker: Manage time across multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Collaborative: Seek input and coordinate with staff.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical Proficiency: Good working knowledge of computer programs, databases, and software.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrated organizational and administrative abilities.
  • Analytical Skills: Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid drivers license

Responsibilities

  • Oversees plant and laboratory procedures for testing and sampling to ensure Company and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Gives technical guidance to operations in dealing with water quality related issues.
  • Recommends treatment and procedures for maintaining approved Water Quality.
  • Ensure wastewater treatment and disposal activity is in accordance with regulatory permit conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulatory permits.
  • Assists local, State, and Federal regulatory agencies during inspections.
  • Responds (on-call) to Water Quality and environmental compliance problems, taking appropriate corrective action including documentation to advise management.
  • Ensures that customer complaints or inquiries are properly addressed to attempt to resolve any issues.
  • Assures that policies, programs, standards of performance and approved objectives related to water quality and environmental compliance are adhered to.
  • Supports water quality activities related to the Environmental Management Program to ensure compliance with applicable regulations are continually met.
  • Conduct special projects and prepare reports.
