About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a full-time Senior Water Project Manager in Tampa, Florida, to support our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a project management engineer focused on technical solutions. In this position, you will design and analyze engineering projects, manage tasks, and develop new business opportunities. Much of the work will be concentrated in Central and South Florida, focusing on utility design, including water treatment, site development, conveyance, groundwater supply, and underground injection projects. Wastewater treatment and conveyance is a plus. This position will receive mentorship from a tenured Senior Hydrogeologist, who is retiring, and a close-knit group of water professionals across Florida and the Eastern US.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Water Resources or related fields.
  • 10+ years' experience in an engineering office with a focus on wastewater infrastructure design and water infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Project management experience with mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses for project work.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) in FL.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including pipe networks.
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated client relationship and project management experience.
  • Ability to perform field work/site visits and some travel required.
  • Valid US driver's license and ability to pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Flexibility to a variety of schedules to meet business needs.

  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Current NCEES record is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze engineering projects related to water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Manage tasks and develop new business opportunities.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with an extensive base of long-term municipal clients.
  • Support business development activities such as client engagement, opportunity identification, team formation, proposal preparation, presentation, and project execution.
  • Develop and inform proposal and project scopes, timelines, pricing, and budgetary metrics.
  • Perform engineering review of permit applications, engineering design plans and specifications, standby plans and engineering contracts.
  • Lead engineering projects, ensuring contributors know their responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Prepare and oversee relevant project budgets, monitor external events, track hours and expenses, and ensure satisfactory performance.
  • Identify and assess actual and potential problem areas in design quality implementation/adherence.
  • Collaborate with professionals from various disciplines to provide trusted advisor service and future-ready solutions for clients.
  • Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development.
  • Commit to the company's safety program.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
