Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in environmental or civil engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license in Texas or ability to acquire upon six months of hiring date.
  • 10+ years of water/wastewater design experience in municipal water, wastewater, water resource, and/or conveyance projects in the Central US region; preference to 10 years of experience in the Texas market.
  • Significant experience in de-salination plants, water and wastewater treatment, conveyance and pump station.
  • Experience in coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail, schedule and budget.
  • Ability to present technical information, both written and orally, in a concise and professional manner; must have strong technical writing skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory/permitting agencies including TCEQ, and EPA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, design, and implementation of water and wastewater conveyance projects, including pipelines, force mains, gravity sewers, and pump stations.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality control across all phases.
  • Coordinate with clients, permitting agencies, contractors, and internal technical teams.
  • Prepare and review engineering reports, design documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Support permitting and environmental documentation processes.
  • Conduct work to appropriate professional standards and to the firm's QA/QC requirements.
  • Participate in QA/QC programs for other projects as requested by managers.
  • Perform schedule reviews on construction projects and maintain/develop schedules for design and construction of assigned projects.
  • Provide mentoring to engineering staff to support the team's technical skill development.
  • Manage projects' budget and schedule.
  • Lead proposal development efforts for new business.
  • Grow relationships with existing and prospective clients; this includes business development, sales and marketing.
