AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a passion for wastewater treatment plant evaluation and design, for the New England area. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an established career serving as a client-facing project manager on regional and municipal wastewater treatment projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to immediately contribute to an established and successful wastewater practice in New England working on a diverse range of technically challenging wastewater projects. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead multi-discipline and complex wastewater design projects from the planning through permitting and construction phases, including alternative delivery projects.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
  • Develop and mentor mid-level and junior staff.
  • Have decision-making authority and direct others in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such.
  • Deliver revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business.
  • Lead business development activities, including pursuing new clients and projects and serving as leader of proposal efforts.
  • Actively participate in wastewater organizations like NEWEA and WEF through presentations at conferences and volunteering.
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 8 years of related experience in wastewater treatment, pumping and collection systems
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Demonstrated knowledge wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection systems and client/consultant relations experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within New England.
  • 12 years of related experience in wastewater consulting and engineering management.
  • Registered Professional Engineer licensed in one of the New England states and capable of obtaining a license in Massachusetts and Connecticut within 9 months of employment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Participation in water community activities including Water Environment Federation and New England Water Environment Association.
  • Proven ability to lead business development activities.
  • Proven leader with an interest in developing and mentoring team members and demonstrated ability to successfully work in diverse teams.
