The hiring rate for this position is $21.00/hr. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Filling all assigned kitchen requisitions, plus additional orders for functions, CE, and co-worker absenteeism. Filling last minute or “emergency “supplemental orders. Assuring all items issued meet institute standards for good quality and condition. Ensuring all transactions are properly executed in the food ordering system. Effectively communicating with assigned faculty as required. Working in an efficient manner to ensure entire area is kept clean and orderly, product properly rotated, boxes topped, dated, etc. Leading teams in routine or monthly inventories as required, including conducting an inventory for purchasing purposes. Training new hires or transfers to shift as required. Assuming supervisory duties of the shift when the manager is absent or away from the area. Completing all assigned cleaning assignments as well as assuring the general work area is free from spills and other matter in traffic areas. Providing friendly, professional customer service. Performing duties with other crew members in a professional team-like manner. Assisting in any routine and monthly inventory as required. Assisting with on campus deliveries when demand arises. Any and all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Storeroom operations or equivalent outside experience with exposure to a full range of culinary ingredients.
  • Fluent in all storeroom computer skills in order to manage food ordering and Email software effectively; including the ability to process requisitions, to transfer ingredients without a requisition, and locate requisitions with errors.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to show a high level of service responsiveness to internal customers.
  • Ability to use and exemplify strong judgment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability and desire to learn to identify and evaluate many perishable and international foodstuffs.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to be adaptable, dependable and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment and maintain collaborative relationships.
  • Must display a high level of energy and self-motivation.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work overtime on nights and weekends as required by business needs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Great deal of walking, bending.
  • Ability to withstand refrigerated and freezer areas.
  • Able to stand for up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to stand and work for extended periods of time during customary service hours.
