About The Position

Serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and provides value through delivery of financial freedom for the communities that we serve illustrated by achievement of Balanced Scorecard metrics. Leads critical functions that support the Credit Union’s operational and strategic plans resulting in a positive impact within the internal community and external community. Responsibilities include oversight of People and Culture, as well as Total Rewards and People Operations. Success criteria includes proficiently illustrating our leadership practices, optimizing team member engagement, delivering a positive experience for members, increasing financial freedom for the community, driving advocacy and generating profitability to advance the sustainability and relevance of the Credit Union. Collaborates with functional areas across the enterprise to create an environment of continuous improvement evidenced by learning, innovation and success for all stakeholders—members, team members and Credit Union. Requirements

  • Subject Matter Expertise and the ability to provide mentorship, guidance and training to other team members.
  • 12 years in a previous executive in financial services role
  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Ensures that the composition of our team reflects the community that we serve across all identities and at all levels. Develops necessary data collection, provides learning opportunities and delivers necessary programs and policies to promote inclusion and diversity.
  • Proficiently supports data and continuous improvement efforts and corresponding business lines.
  • Collaborates with the President/CEO as a key partner in the design and architecture of the Credit Union’s culture, values, and leadership curriculum.
  • Proficiently identifies new revenue opportunities, expands current revenue streams and promotes additional cost saving/efficiency strategies within the People and Culture Team. Effectively evaluates current work practices, processes and policies resulting in greater Mission impact, member engagement and profitability.
  • Proactive in vendor management to ensure strong value proposition and ROI for key vendor relationships.
  • Proficiently anticipates and provides solutions in recurring meetings with the Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team, Leadership Forum, Culture Forum, Operational Excellence Forum, Mission Forum, Strategic Planning Team, Risk Council, ALCO Committee, and Security Program Committee.
  • Accountable for all audit outcomes—within area of responsibility—identified by internal and external auditors including the NCUA and DOB.
  • Ensures that appropriate responses to complaints are completely resolved and findings are utilized to create process improvements designed to advance the member experience.
  • Develops and maintains community relations outside the organization. Develops close contact with chambers of commerce, legislative and regulatory professionals, such as Credit Union League of CT, national trade associations and other relevant trade groups. Attends credit union conferences, conventions, seminars and other educational meetings.
  • Effectively participates in interviews for television, radio and print media.
  • Responsible for the completion of other duties as assigned.
