Senior Virtual Designer - TX Relocation
About The Position
As a Senior Virtual Designer and play a key role in delivering high-level support for Commercial and Mission Critical projects across Texas. This position is 100% on-site (multiple locations available) , and we offer a highly competitive compensation package for experienced professionals, including relocation assistance. In this position, you’ll take the lead on developing advanced 3D models and detailed electrical documentation using AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and NavisWorks . Your work will help drive coordination across multiple project teams, requiring precision, strong communication skills, and the ability to deliver in a deadline-driven construction setting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least five years of electrical CAD drafting experience in commercial construction
- A CAD associate degree or equivalent experience
- Electrical field exposure and/or an associate degree in Electrical Theory
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD MEP and Revit
- Ability to navigate NavisWorks for model review and data extraction
- Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specs, and technical documents
- Experience creating and editing Revit families
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- Basic knowledge of TFP or APL (Trimble Field Points or Autodesk Point Layout)
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Familiarity with Procore, PlanGrid, BIM 360, Dynamo, Revizto, Fieldwire, or Evolve (preferred)
- Bluebeam experience is advantageous
- Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously
Responsibilities
- 3D Modeling & Coordination Create accurate 3D electrical models based on layouts provided by superintendents
- Perform clash detection and troubleshoot coordination conflicts using NavisWorks Manage
- Participate in BIM coordination efforts led by general contractors through final approvals
- Partner with engineering teams during design-build phases to refine the model
- Technical Drafting & Documentation Generate high-quality electrical shop drawings and Bills of Material
- Maintain and update Revit and AutoCAD standards, templates, and details
- Pull project data, quantities, and insights from BIM models utilizing NavisWorks
- Team, Leadership & Project Support Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to Virtual Designers and Detailers
- Assist the BIM Manager with workflow planning, budgeting, and process oversight
- Collaborate closely with operations teams, GCs, and MEP trades to maintain alignment and project continuity
