Senior Vice President, Operations

Scan.comAtlanta, GA

About The Position

We’re Scan.com, the digital health scale-up making diagnostics accessible, fast, and transparent. Our technology speeds up diagnoses for timely treatments, improving healthcare outcomes for hundreds of patients each day. We're doing diagnostics differently, with solutions tailored to both patients and providers, all backed by our technology and world-class customer operations team. Our B2C marketplace simplifies booking a scan, making it as straightforward for patients as booking a hotel. Our B2B platforms provide live scheduling at the point of care and harness AI to ease workflows for physicians, attorneys, and providers. We're looking for a Senior Vice President, Operations at an exciting time - we've successfully launched multiple platforms and products, raised over $100m in VC funding, reached profitability, and have a growth trajectory of over 100% YoY. WHAT YOU WILL BE GETTING INVOLVED IN: This is one of the most critical roles in our company, and one of the most demanding. As SVP, Operations, you will own the performance and P&L of our core operational functions: scheduling and call center operations, revenue cycle management (RCM), interoperability and report delivery, and post-scan fulfillment. You will report directly to the COO and Co-Founder, serving as the senior operational leader responsible for building scalable, high-performance systems across a complex, multi-state healthcare organization operating within a tightly regulated environment. You will oversee onshore teams and offshore BPO partners, manage critical radiology vendor relationships, and drive the transition toward an AI-augmented operating model. You are expected to continue our operations cost structure transformation while simultaneously scaling capacity to support rapid volume growth. This dual mandate, rebuilding and reinforcing the machine while it's running at full speed, is what defines the role. This is not a role for someone looking for balance or comfort. The scope is broad, the pace is relentless, and the standard is elite. You will be expected to operate with intensity, own outcomes completely, and deliver consistently at a level that matches the ambition of the business. As a scale-up business, you can expect your role to develop over time. Here are some of the types of things you could be getting involved in:

Requirements

  • Proven track record of owning and scaling complex, multi-function operations with full P&L accountability in a high-growth environment
  • Deep expertise in at least two of: call center/scheduling operations, revenue cycle management, healthcare delivery operations, or post-scan fulfillment
  • Experience deploying AI, automation, and intelligent workflow tooling within operational environments, not just theorizing about it
  • Strong command of process improvement methodologies (value stream mapping, systems thinking, kaizen, lean, six sigma) with demonstrated results at scale
  • Exceptional workforce management capability, including experience building and managing distributed teams across onshore and offshore BPO operations
  • Comfort operating within complex healthcare regulatory frameworks, with practical understanding of compliance requirements in multi-state imaging or provider services environments
  • Product-minded orientation with the ability to partner effectively with engineering and product teams to shape operational tooling
  • Deeply analytical, with the instinct to ground decisions in unit economics, SLA data, and capacity models rather than intuition alone
  • Outstanding communication skills with the range to connect authentically with frontline team members and present with confidence to board-level audiences
  • High EQ, high output, and an uncompromising standard of execution

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare experience is strongly preferred, particularly in imaging or adjacent verticals
  • Experience scaling operations across multiple states with varying regulatory and licensing requirements
  • A genuine appetite for hard work and the resilience to sustain high performance across a demanding, multi-faceted role

Responsibilities

  • Full P&L ownership of scheduling operations and call center functions, including oversight and performance management of key vendor partners and offshore BPO operations
  • Full P&L ownership of our RCM function, driving collections efficiency and optimizing the revenue cycle end to end
  • Full P&L ownership of our interoperability function, ensuring radiology reports are delivered on time and consistently meet SLA commitments. Own radiology partner performance
  • Full P&L ownership of post-scan fulfillment operations including bills and records delivery, ensuring downstream SLAs are met consistently
  • Drive transformative cost reduction across the full operational cost structure through process redesign, automation, vendor optimization, and workforce strategy
  • Design and evolve the structure of the Operations organization, deploying AI and automation to enhance team capability and reduce cost per transaction while maintaining or improving service levels
  • Build and implement workforce management systems to effectively schedule and manage a multi-state, dynamic, distributed workforce across onshore and offshore teams
  • Operate fluently within a complex healthcare regulatory environment, partnering closely with Legal to ensure compliance as operations scale across new states
  • Lead value chain mapping, process improvement, and continuous improvement (kaizen) initiatives across all operational functions
  • Build and maintain operational dashboards and predictive analytics covering unit economics, SLA performance, report turnaround times, and capacity planning by state and market to enable data-driven decision making
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to shape tooling and platform capabilities that drive operational leverage
  • Communicate operational performance, strategy, and investment needs to the executive team and board with clarity and precision

Benefits

  • Salary range of $280,000 - $320,000 base, plus performance bonus and equity
  • 401k
  • Healthcare, Vision and Dental
  • All the equipment needed for you to do your role effectively
  • Flexible working
  • Remote or hybrid working options
  • Personal Development budgets
  • 18 days PTO plus public holidays
