About The Position

The Senior Vice President of Finance at the Institute for Community Living, Inc. is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing financial management across the organization and its affiliates. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the SVP will manage accounting, compliance, and revenue recognition for government contracts and private grants, while collaborating with senior leadership to develop and implement the agency's financial strategy. The role requires adaptability to a dynamic environment and a focus on maintaining financial integrity and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in nonprofit management with a track record of strategic initiatives.
  • At least 10 years of experience as CFO, Associate CFO, or SVP of Finance in a nonprofit organization with a budget of at least $100 million.
  • Experience in nonprofit accounting, including fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting.
  • Deep knowledge of the Office of Management and Budget Circular A 133 audit.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Medicaid billing and contracts.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory bodies and funding sources such as DHS, OMH, DOHMH, OPWDD.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee cash flow management and forecasting to ensure availability of funds.
  • Manage banking relationships on a day-to-day basis.
  • Develop and utilize predictive models and activity-based financial planning.
  • Coordinate the development and monitoring of divisional/organizational budgets with senior leadership.
  • Develop financial business plans and forecasts as directed by the CFO.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial plans and projections.
  • Stay updated on nonprofit audit best practices and relevant laws.
  • Oversee Controllers, VP of revenue, and accounting departments for proper maintenance of accounting systems.
  • Coach and mentor team members to enhance professional growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure maintenance of internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial reporting.
  • Coordinate audits, 990s, and tax return filings.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding financial functions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
