Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in credit analysis focusing on financial institutions to provide expert judgment on banking, insurance, and private credit methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills to conduct in-depth reviews of complex credit rating methodology proposals and resolve challenging issues under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with senior management, rating groups, and external parties like regulators.
  • Proven management experience to lead the FIG sub-team, oversee projects, and foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment is desired.
  • Knowledge of Moody's rating methodologies to review, approve, and provide senior guidance on methodology proposals and compliance-related queries is desired.

  • An advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Methodology Review Group-FIG, overseeing the review and approval of all FIG-related credit rating methodologies globally.
  • Lead the review and approval process for new and updated credit rating methodologies, assessments, and models for the Financial Institutions Group (FIG), including banks, insurance, and private credit.
  • Manage and oversee the FIG sub-team within the Methodology Review Group (MRG), including project allocation, professional development, and performance management.
  • Supervise in-depth annual reviews of existing FIG methodologies, oversee quarterly rating committee reviews, and act as a senior resource for risk and compliance-related queries.
  • Interact with a wide range of internal stakeholders (Rating Groups, Senior Management) and external parties (regulators) to communicate around methodology decisions and gather feedback.
