The Senior Vice President, Industry Relations is the enterprise executive responsible for Optum Rx’s pharmaceutical manufacturer engagement strategy and contracting across all lines of business. This leader drives value driven outcomes, competitive market positioning, and improved medication affordability for commercial and government populations. Reporting into senior Optum Rx leadership, the SVP leads end-to-end strategic relationships with pharmaceutical companies and specialty distribution partners, working in close partnership with formulary strategy, clinical leadership, analytics, finance, legal, and operations. This role leads a high-impact, globally matrixed organization and serves as a senior external representative to the pharmaceutical industry. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. The ideal candidate is a seasoned pharmaceutical or PBM executive with deep expertise in strategic pharmaceutical manufacturing relationships, contracting and pricing dynamics, and market access strategy. This leader brings solid financial acumen, executive presence, and the ability to influence outcomes across complex, matrixed organizations. They are externally credible with manufacturers and internally trusted as a strategic partner and enterprise leader.
