About The Position

Senior Vice President, Finance – Based in Naperville, IL. The Senior Vice President, Finance is a key strategic partner to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Executive Leadership Team responsible for all aspects of accounting & finance, underwriting, and data analytics for Delta Dental of Illinois and subsidiaries. The expected start date for this role is late Q1 or Q2 2026. We’re looking for a Senior Vice President, Finance who can: Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to define and execute financial and business strategies. Lead the fiscal functions of the Delta Dental of Illinois Enterprise in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory guidelines relating to the health care industry and in keeping with the goals and objectives of the Enterprise. Ensure that the pricing and budgeting processes are interconnected so that budgetary needs are evaluated within pricing and underwriting strategies / inputs. Evaluate all key levers beyond administrative expenses and lead the Enterprise to optimal results Participate in strategic planning processes and partner with the CEO on creative financial vehicles to optimize strategies, capital, RBC and other levels to help create longer term sustainability for the Enterprise. Review and monitor the corporate investment portfolios in accordance with investment policies, as established by the appropriate Board of Directors, to ensure adequate liquidity to meet the demands of daily operations and to ensure the investment portfolio meets the requirements of applicable insurance regulations and the NAIC. Develop, prepare and publish timely, fairly stated profitability, productivity, quality and other financial and operational management reports. Present financial results the CEO, management and other staff in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience required (public and private experience preferred; experience in the health care industry a plus).
  • 8 years of accounting management experience required.
  • College degree required, CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Ability to manage projects in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written/verbal communications skills.
  • The position requires a well-organized, articulate professional with high ethical standards and integrity, who demonstrates good judgment.
  • The individual must be able to establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board of Directors as an effective problem solver.

Responsibilities
