About The Position

As the SVP of North America Distribution & Transportation, you will lead operations for both JAM and Almo businesses across North America. This consolidated role replaces the ALMO VP of Logistics & Operations, creating unified leadership for distribution, transportation, engineering, safety/HSE, compliance, and real estate functions. Reporting to the COO for North America, you will shape strategy and execution to deliver best-in-class service, operational efficiency, and scalability. You will unify teams, processes, and technology to optimize our 10+ distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada (2M sq. ft.), ensuring our network is positioned to meet customer needs today and into the future. You will also manage organizational change, communication, and leadership transitions to ensure alignment and minimal disruption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in distribution and transportation, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-site operations.
  • Proven ability to design and execute strategic distribution and transportation plans across large, complex networks.
  • Demonstrated leadership in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent continuous improvement environments (certification preferred).
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, change management, and communication skills with the ability to unify teams across geographies.
  • Experience managing operational budgets, vendor contracts, and real estate portfolios.
  • Advanced proficiency with WMS, TMS, BI tools, and related supply chain technologies.
  • Financial acumen with a track record of delivering sustained cost improvements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment while balancing strategic and operational priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a North America-wide customer proximity strategy to maximize service from the closest distribution center, reducing transit distances and improving service.
  • Lead optimization of warehouse layouts, throughput, and workforce training using Lean/continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Manage recurring freight carrier RFP processes (annual/biannual) to ensure competitive rates and service quality.
  • Establish and lead an inbound freight center of excellence for 4,000-5,000 annual container imports, ensuring customs compliance, tariff accuracy, and efficient routing to DCs.
  • Create and execute a forward-looking, multi-year strategic plan that builds on recent network consolidation and freight contract renegotiations.
  • Lead and manage 10+ regional distribution centers across North America, optimizing layouts, throughput, and workflow.
  • Direct engineering, transportation, and distribution leadership teams across both JAM and Almo operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in both the U.S. and Canada.
  • Manage workforce, quality, service, and capacity planning initiatives to ensure scalability and resource optimization.
  • Drive a culture of continuous process improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Implement technology-driven solutions, optimizing systems including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Business Intelligence (BI), and freight rating tools.
  • Manage relationships with North American real estate partners and lead lease negotiations, renewals, and facility optimization projects.
  • Manage budgets and oversee financial performance for distribution and transportation, delivering year-over-year improvements in cost, productivity, and service.
  • Lead organizational change resulting from the consolidation of North America operations, including managing sensitive leadership transitions and communication strategies.
  • Ensure smooth integration of teams and processes across multiple legal entities (JAM Canada, JAM USA, Almo Corp) while maintaining employer-of-record compliance.
