About The Position

As a Commercial Banker III - Mid Market, you will be responsible for identifying a target market for new business and subsequently developing and establishing a book of new business from those relationships. This includes negotiating, underwriting, and coordinating the closing of a variety of major and complex loans in compliance with the Bank’s lending policies and procedures, as well as developing business checking and deposit relationships with customers. You will also assist clients with deposit-related products and services, gathering and analyzing client information to recommend appropriate solutions. The role involves compiling and analyzing market research data, engaging in business development activities, and collaborating with treasury partners to ensure seamless client experiences. You will call and visit target customers to promote and sell Bank products and services, maintain a customer database, and make reports to superiors. Responsibilities also include interviewing prospective applicants for loans, performing pre-qualification assessments, and gathering information for financing requests to present to senior management or the Loan Committee. You will coordinate the processing of approved loans, ensuring compliance with Bank policies, and solving problems within the Relationship Manager’s portfolio. Maintaining superior knowledge of financial industry status and trends, recommending product improvements, and representing the Bank in community functions are also key aspects of the role. Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge in all facets of relationship management.
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • May require up to 50% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting clients with deposit related products and services, as well as gathering and analyzing client information to recommend appropriate deposit product solutions.
  • Compiling and analyzing market research data to develop recommendations regarding products and services focused on needs of target market.
  • Engaging in business development activities and solicitation of new business based on the target market.
  • Collaborating closely with treasury partner to ensure seamless client experiences.
  • Calling and visiting target customers to promote and sell Bank products and services to establish a new book of business.
  • Developing and maintaining customer data base including calls and results on all new business relationships.
  • Making reports to superiors as required.
  • Interviewing prospective applicants and requests specified information related to loan or credit application; correspond or re-interview applicants to resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Performing basic pre-qualification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests within framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
  • Gathering all information necessary to present a financing request to senior management or Loan Committee for approval; meet with new/potential customers; visit sites of loans; negotiate loan terms and conditions; refer and recommend acceptance to the Chief Credit Officer or Loan Committee.
  • Coordinating processing of approved loans; ensure loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies; obtain sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; solve problems relative to processing and servicing of loans within the Relationship Manager’s portfolio.
  • Maintaining a superior knowledge of financial industry status and trends.
  • Recommending to senior management those products and services experiencing less than satisfactory performance.
  • Representing the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank’s image and develop additional business; assist the Bank in establishing and maintaining market position in the financing arena.
