About The Position
The Senior Vice President, Chief Integrity Officer at OSF HealthCare plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization's strategic objectives by proactively identifying and addressing compliance and other associated risks. This position is accountable for overseeing the comprehensive Ministry-wide Compliance and Internal Audit Program, which is designed to be risk-based in its approach to preventing, detecting, and correcting instances of fraud, waste, and abuse. The Internal Audit Program is focused on enhancing the effectiveness of operational controls that mitigate risks throughout the Ministry. In this multifaceted role, the Chief Integrity Officer embodies the responsibilities of Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Privacy Officer, and Chief Audit Executive. The position is characterized by a high level of seniority and autonomy, allowing the Chief Integrity Officer to take necessary actions to maintain the independence and objectivity of the Compliance and Internal Audit Program. The Chief Integrity Officer receives guidance and support from the Compliance Committee and the Internal Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, reporting directly to these Committees while also administratively reporting to the Chairperson of the Committees. The Chief Integrity Officer is granted unrestricted access to the Board of Directors, operational leaders, and other Mission Partners, empowering them with the authority to implement compliance plans and measures, initiate audits and investigations, suspend billing for compliance purposes, and recommend and establish internal controls. Additionally, the Chief Integrity Officer has the authority to engage outside experts, including attorneys, auditors, and investigators, and to review necessary documents or records pertinent to audits or investigations. This role is crucial in upholding the OSF Mission and exemplifying integrity and principled decision-making, while the Compliance and Internal Audit Team is dedicated to maintaining and promoting adherence to the OSF Code of Conduct.
