About The Position

The Advocate Health Senior Vice President, Ambulatory Surgery Center Management & Development, is responsible for strategic planning, financial performance, clinical performance, operations, and the formation, development and optimization of all ambulatory surgery centers and physician joint venture surgery and procedural centers across the Advocate Health enterprise. The Senior Vice President will manage a team of market-based ASC leaders who serve as the primary leaders for the growth and development of Advocate Health's ASCs, joint venture relationship management, and physician partner engagement. Responsibilities include building physician and partner organization relationships advancing new business development to increase market and meet consumer demands, developing new business strategies in preparation for value-based care, site of care optimization, and oversight of the recruitment, and acquisition and deployment of new ASCs. The Senior Vice President will provide thought leadership on the position of an ambulatory surgery centers in Advocate Health's overall strategic plan and care delivery portfolio.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in health administration or business administration.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive leadership experience in the healthcare field.
  • Substantial experience in an outpatient and/or medical group setting.
  • 5 or more years in ambulatory surgery environments.
  • Experience with joint ventures, de novo centers, and ambulatory surgery operations.
  • Proven ability to build and cultivate strong relationships with physicians and system executives.
  • Demonstrated experience in ambulatory surgery operations and playbook development.
  • Financial acumen and experience with expansion of new sites of care.
  • Exceptional ability to execute on deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Build a cohesive ASC management team accountable for deploying strategic and operational plans efficiently and effectively.
  • Support and facilitate leadership development and succession planning for all team members.
  • Mentor others into leadership roles.
  • Develop and execute system capital budgets and control expenditures within approved budget parameters.
  • Ensure operationalization of all locations to achieve expected results in partnership with joint venture partners.
  • Oversee site selection, facility planning, and financial, clinical, operational, and marketing plans.
  • Develop, communicate, and deploy best practice care models that exemplify Advocate Health's mission and vision.
  • Work with market leaders and other stakeholders to understand competitive environment and growth drivers.
  • Lead strategic partnership development with independent/non-employed physician partners.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational compliance plan and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with business development for new business identification and expansion opportunities.
  • Establish system productivity benchmarks and monitor industry trends.
  • Ensure standardization across ambulatory surgery centers and integration with other Advocate Health entities.
  • Design, deliver, and optimize a comprehensive ambulatory surgery strategy.
  • Develop and implement short-term and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Plan and implement timely communication plans with internal and external customers.
  • Design and implement programs and services that optimize best practices.
  • Serve as organizational liaison to existing joint ventures and monitor operational performance.
  • Perform human resources responsibilities for direct staff.
  • Conduct financial feasibility studies and develop proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Facilitate and manage ASC joint venture integration post-transaction.
  • Lead integration of corporate functions into the operating model for Advocate Health ASCs.
  • Support engagement through collaborative communication with executive leaders and stakeholders.
