Impact You'll Make: Establishing and operating an Integration Management Office across both buy-side and sell-side transactions, supporting pre- and post-close workstreams from Day 1 planning through full integration. Demonstrating advanced knowledge of project management principles, toolkits, templates, and methodologies. Reviewing transaction documents, such as purchase agreements and letters of interest, and effectively communicating implications to the client across all stages of transaction execution, including pre-close readiness and post-close implementation. Leading or supporting carve-out integration engagements, including the separation of finance functions, reporting structures, and shared services from parent entities. Supporting FP&A function buildout and optimization, including budgeting and forecasting processes, management reporting frameworks, and KPI development in a post-transaction environment. Demonstrating working knowledge of key business processes: order to cash, procure to pay, and record to report. Advising clients on finance function improvements identified through pre- and post-close assessments, translating transaction findings into actionable operational recommendations. Interacting with finance-focused ERPs, e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle. Possessing business-user knowledge of the solution development lifecycle. What You'll Do: Lead the day-to-day execution of Accounting & Reporting Advisory assignments, with a primary focus on researching and preparing client deliverables. Support both buy-side and sell-side transaction execution, including due diligence, structuring considerations, and close process management across pre- and post-close periods. Serve as a subject matter expert in post-acquisition integration, demonstrating familiarity with standard Integration Management Office practices and procedures. Lead carve-out integration engagements, including the separation of financial reporting, accounting processes, and shared services from parent entities. Lead or assist with identifying post-transaction recommendations for finance function improvement across procure to pay (P2P), record to report (R2R), and order to cash (O2C). Support FP&A function design and optimization, including budgeting and forecasting process improvements, management reporting, and KPI development in the context of transaction and integration work. Act as a technical accounting subject matter expert for the firm’s valuation practice, providing ad hoc research and support. Prepare and review client deliverables, including accounting memoranda, accounting policies, financial statement disclosures, supporting schedules, and journal entries. Assist clients with pre-close readiness activities, including the design of Day 1 and Day 100 plans, finance workstream planning, and establishing standalone reporting capabilities. Train, develop, and manage junior team members. Participate in business development and marketing activities, including proposals, presentations, and thought leadership. Engage in market-facing activities to develop and maintain relationships with clients, prospects, and referral sources, primarily consisting of public and private companies and CPA firms Review complex contracts and conduct related technical accounting research. Prepare accounting memoranda and policies. Determine appropriate journal entries and address other operational accounting matters. Prepare financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures. Conduct research on SEC filing requirements and prepare supporting accounting schedules and other audit support.

Requirements

  • Broad knowledge of US GAAP, including purchase accounting, derivatives, complex debt and equity securities, stock-based compensation, revenue recognition, and lease accounting.
  • Ability to translate complex accounting standards/treatments into layman's terms.
  • Deep experience with M&A transactions, particularly post-acquisition integration.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present to the C-suite and the executive tier directly reporting into the C-suite.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and client-service focused.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in technical accounting and financial reporting.
  • 3+ years of finance process and/or transformation experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in specific industries is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of SEC regulations and filings is preferred.
  • A mix of audit and advisory experience is preferred.
  • Post-acquisition transaction experience is preferred.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
