Requirements

  • At least 3 years of full cycle recruiting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience in the veterinary industry whether clinical or industry facing is highly desired.
  • High degree of creativity, short and long-term recruiting vision, business understanding, and personal organization.
  • Negotiation, marketing, or sales experience a plus.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the full DVM recruitment cycle including consistent sourcing, screening, on-site visit management, interviewing, drafting offers, negotiating offers, and managing feedback activities for all engaged in the process.
  • Regularly communicates with partnering Regional Directors on hiring needs, active candidate status, and candidate pipelines.
  • Ensures the applicant tracking system accurately reflects job opening updates and candidate status.
  • Maintains consistent data in the CRM, capturing comprehensive information regarding candidate experiences, desires, and needs.
  • Partners with the Director, DVM Recruiting and operations leadership to identify and prioritize recruitment needs and recruitment strategies including the unique needs of our practices.
  • Develops and continually refines a candidate pipeline through new and existing relationships with targeted veterinary schools, programs, associations, industry contacts, internal and external employees, etc.
  • Records appropriate candidates in the CRM.
  • Represents Heartland for recruiting purposes at identified networking and industry events, career fairs and interview days, alumni events, conferences, etc.
  • Continually reviews hiring targets and sources to ensure personal and team target achievement.
  • Travel requirement is 50 - 55%. There will be peak periods where travel is necessary for multiple weeks in a row (peak seasons are fall and spring).
