The Senior Vehicle Mechanical Engineering Technical Specialist serves as a senior subject matter expert (SME) in one or more vehicle engineering domains-such as body, chassis, mechanisms, or general mechanical systems-while maintaining broad technical awareness across other disciplines. This role provides cross-functional technical leadership, consulting expertise, and governance of engineering standards to ensure robust, manufacturable, and validated designs throughout all program phases. The Specialist partners closely with Lead Vehicle Engineers (LVEs), Program Management, and Functional Managers to align technical decisions with vehicle-level performance, cost, timing, and quality objectives. The position combines hands-on technical depth with the cross-system perspective required to support an engineering services organization, mentoring engineers, leading reviews, and driving continuous improvement in methods, tools, and standards.
