About The Position

DPR Construction is seeking to fill a Virtual Design & Construction, Senior Project VDC Engineer. A successful candidate will lead development, implementation and support of all VDC and Field Technology processes across the region. The primary objective for this individual is to support established VDC initiatives leveraged by project teams both in the office and field and supporting model-based project management and Field Technology Group (FTG), process workflows, and construction technology deployment for DPR business units.

Expert in leveraging and supporting Autodesk Navisworks Manage and/or Simulate
Strong knowledge of contractor facing authoring and collaboration tools such as Revit, Tekla, 3D AutoCAD MEP, Solidworks, Inventor, etc.
Design and Construction authoring/management programs
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience in the building industry
Have 3-5+ years’ experience working in Precon, Operations, or VDC-related role
3-5 years in the field of design, engineering, or construction
Intermediate level software knowledge in Autodesk packages (i.e.: Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.) and other platforms
Experience working with Field Technology software and tools

Responsibilities

Support project setup for 3D trade coordination, site logistical planning, and 4D sequencing
Provide technical support and training to project teams on digital tools such as Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam, including project specific leadership and mentoring for VDC and related technology fields
Lead and support VDC coordination kick off meetings and follow up sessions
Facilitate communication and alignment between project teams, virtual builder leadership, and client stakeholders
Configuring of project site to host BIM data (if applicable) or other equitable platforms
Assist the VDC Manager in developing and implementing project specific VDC strategies, scope, plans, and initiatives
Support implementation of project specific VDC strategy and VDC initiatives
Manage on-site construction team efforts in the implementation of VDC and FTG applications and processes in addition VDC deliverables
Support preparation of project specific contract language for trade buyout in coordination with the VDC Manager
Set up and support VDC and FTG equipment and software including total stations, laser scanners, UAVs, and RTLS, and deliver FTG services such as laser scanning and drone operations while improving the use of point cloud data for as built models and supporting FTG needs.
