About The Position

The Senior Vascular Technologist functions as an experienced healthcare professional working under the delegated authority of the Technical Director and supervising physician. This role is responsible for performing advanced non-invasive vascular studies, ensuring high-quality imaging standards, and supporting quality assurance initiatives within the vascular laboratory. The Senior Technologist serves as a clinical resource to peers and collaborates closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to support accurate and timely diagnostic services.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Vascular Technology or Ultrasound
  • Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in allied health or science discipline plus certificate from an accredited vascular ultrasound program
  • ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) required
  • RVT certification within 24 months may be considered
  • 4–5+ years of experience in vascular ultrasound technology and non-invasive vascular exams
  • Demonstrated expertise across a broad range of vascular studies
  • Strong working knowledge of vascular laboratory equipment and protocols
  • Advanced technical proficiency in vascular imaging
  • Strong understanding of laboratory protocols and accreditation standards
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional growth
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to support and guide less experienced technologists without formal supervisory responsibility
  • Proficiency with documentation and reporting software

Responsibilities

  • Perform the full spectrum of non-invasive vascular studies, including: Non-invasive carotid studies
  • Arterial duplex studies (AVF, graft surveillance, stent surveillance)
  • Venous duplex studies
  • Transcranial Doppler studies
  • Renal artery studies
  • Arterial physiology studies
  • Vein mapping studies
  • Ensure examinations meet laboratory quality standards prior to physician interpretation.
  • Maintain proficiency in operating all vascular laboratory equipment.
  • Apply advanced clinical judgment in image acquisition and protocol adherence.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Support IAC accreditation and reaccreditation processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting through clinical systems.
  • Assist in monitoring technical image quality and adherence to established standards.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to sonography staff.
  • Support onboarding and mentoring of junior technologists as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, administrators, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Assist with education and training of sonography students and physician trainees when applicable.
