About The Position

Join our dynamic team at SoFi as a Senior Researcher, working across the business to influence product decisions at various stages of product development. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or a related field (Graduate Degree preferred).
  • Five (5)+ years of experience conducting user research in a product development setting.
  • Expertise in a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including industry-standard qualitative methods such as interviewing, usability testing, concept testing, diary studies, tree tests, card sorting, and journey mapping.
  • Basic quantitative skills, including sample formulation, survey design and fielding, and descriptive analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and identify key insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate research findings clearly and persuasively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the tradeoff between rigor and speed in research.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A drive for learning and self-improvement, both in terms of research skills and product knowledge within financial services.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with advanced survey design (conjoint, MaxDiff, segmentation etc.).
  • Experience with mixed-methods and/or multi-method research.
  • Experience with advanced data analysis, inferential analysis, regression, etc.
  • Experience with experimental research design.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research initiatives that inform product strategy and design, driving user-centered decision-making across the product lifecycle.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and engineering, to deliver impactful insights that shape the future of our products.
  • Plan, design, execute, and analyze a wide range of user research studies, employing appropriate methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) to address research questions.
  • Synthesize research findings into clear, concise, and actionable insights that inform product decisions.
  • Lead and contribute to multiple workstreams within and across business areas, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
  • As needed, deliver complex projects impacting the business unit and participate in strategy for product team roadmaps.
  • As needed, conduct rapid, iterative design-focused research in collaboration with product and design partners.
  • Leverage a strong understanding of user and business needs to influence user-focused outcomes, incorporating questions and feedback into decision-making.
  • Create artifacts that influence outcomes, consider diverse audiences, and balance vision with feasibility.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices, sharing relevant insights.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of research best practices and methodologies within the team.

Benefits

  • Base pay range: $124,800.00 - $234,000.00
