About The Position

At Google, we "Focus on the user and all else will follow." As a User Experience Researcher (UXR), you make this possible. You will join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, to gather insights and create industry-leading products. You’ll play a critical role in helping your team understand user needs and will drive impact at all stages of product development, ensuring products are useful, usable, and helpful. You will explore user behaviors and motivations by conducting primary research, including: field studies, interviews, diary studies, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis. You will also grow within a supportive UXR community offering mentorship, regular meetups, and exclusive internal tools. The mission of the Search Verticals and International team is to "elevate the journeys that matter most" - designing specialty experiences for a global user base searching for information on travel, local, finance, TV & movies, sustainability, sports, and so much more. In the era of AI, this team sits at a critical junction - how do we transform these long-standing experiences to meet (and lead) the evolution in how users prefer to seek and consume information? This team works across key Search surfaces, including the Search results page, the new "AI Mode," and Discover (the personalized feed in the Google App). In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. To do that, we need to solve complex engineering challenges and expand our infrastructure, while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience that people around the world rely on. In joining the Search team, you'll have an opportunity to make an impact on billions of people globally.
