About The Position

Microsoft Copilot is transforming the modern workplace, with voice technology playing a crucial role in creating experiences that are intuitive, trustworthy, and engaging. The M365 Core Design team is currently hiring a Senior UX Engineer to join our creative team in prototyping and delivering front-end solutions for Copilot.
In this position, you will collaborate within a people-oriented, culture-driven environment alongside UI/UX designers, product designers, engineers, strategists, and writers to develop and implement multimodal experiences for Microsoft 365 Copilot.

In this role, you will work closely with colleagues across design, engineering, research, and branding to deliver large-scale multimodal experiences, helping define the future of voice in artificial intelligence.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code
• OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code
• OR equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

• Passion for invention, human-computer interaction, and seamless user experiences
• Solid interest and understanding in regards to enabling User Research through prototyping.
• Solid understanding of production requirements and the willingness to steer work to minimize negative impact
• Confident presenting and promoting design solutions
• A history of designing delightful interactive experiences
• Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team of designers and developers
• Self-motivated and comfortable with the ambiguities inherent in incubation work
• Solid brainstorming skills, from participation to leadership
• A solid interest in design, technology, and trends, with an eye toward the future.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services or AI/ML is a bonus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop refined components and user experiences.
• Transform design concepts into functional prototypes and code, ensuring ongoing iteration for optimal results.
• Provide constructive feedback and recommend innovative, effective solutions.
• Inform stakeholders when technological limitations necessitate adjustments in design or engineering.
• Adhere to best practices and offer thorough code review feedback to colleagues.
• Collaborate closely with designers and product managers to develop prototypes that effectively communicate experiential goals beyond static compositions.
