Position: Senior UX Designer Job Location: 221 River Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030 Duties: Supports the continuous improvement of and leads the creation of user experience tools, documentation, and processes by maintaining holistic viewpoint when tackling project decisions; defining solutions frameworks from a scalable and global viewpoint; contributing to the evolution of site standards; collecting feedback and industry research standards; and providing recommendations. Independently propose hypotheses for research. Provides inputs to modify research approaches and execution plans. Guides research processes with inputs regarding type, quality, and quantity of data and information to be collected. Verifies the reliability and accuracy of the information through detailed checks. Detects any gaps in information uncovered and removes unreliable information. Clarifies and resolves inconsistencies in the data of research projects. Analyzes and interprets relevant data for results and important insights. Translates research insights and metrics, including research from other sources, into actionable recommendations that inform design and business strategies. Manages user experience design, prototyping, and specification writing projects by proposing and leading project definition activities; working with other project team members to define methods to be used, including competitive audits and secondary research; driving the creation of designs, prototypes, and specifications that will advance the company's merchandising, business, marketing, and branding objectives; presenting designs to project and business teams for review; working with Engineering leads to determine the effectiveness of solutions; producing detailed design documentation and other specifications required to implement design; working with product manager and team to define documentation scope; reviewing project product requirements document (PRD) to ensure correct translation of design; and providing quality assurance (QA) feedback to and consultation with HTML, Engineering, and Product Management teams prior to launch. Assesses gaps between business expectations and user experience strategies. Leverages a deep understanding of trends in user consumption habits to develop or improve interaction design and user experience strategies. Anticipates and mitigates risks during information synthesis and independently arrives at possible solutions for interactive designs. Analyzes and interprets existing data (for example web analytics, user surveys, customer support calls). Creates the user experience designs (for example, user interface design comps, visual design specs, prototypes) for complex and comprehensive initiative-level projects by leading project design definition activities; defining methods to be used, including competitive audits and secondary research; driving creation of designs and specs that will advance the company's merchandising, business, marketing, and branding objectives; presenting designs to project and business teams for review; and working with Engineering leads to determine the effectiveness of solutions. Builds and maintains customer relations to understand customer requirements/problems. Creates customer journey touchpoints to anticipate product enhancements by pre-empting gaps/risks in the product experience. Simplifies and improves processes to reduce turnaround times, increase effectiveness, and drive customer delight. Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area and 1 year of experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Product Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area and 3 years of experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area. Skills required: Experience with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, and InVision to create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups. Experience with anticipating and mitigating risks during information synthesis and arriving at possible solutions for interactive designs. Experience with user-centered design principles and methodologies to create intuitive and user-friendly designs. Experience with defining and documenting design details through process flows, site maps, wireframes, and functional specifications. Experience with using frameworks, sketches, diagrams, user flows, information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate and validate design concepts. Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Experience with usability testing and user research methods to gather insights and inform design decisions. Experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build interactive models and prototypes. Experience with motion graphics, including creating animations, promotional videos, and marketing content using Adobe After Effects. Experience with building and maintaining design systems, including developing reusable UI components, design tokens, and style guidelines. Experience with managing shared libraries in Figma and Sketch and ensuring visual and functional consistency across web and mobile products. Experience with collaborating with engineers and product teams to document and implement scalable design standards. Experience with design-thinking methodologies to facilitate effective cross-functional conversations and workshops, gathering and shaping ideas from our partner teams, and rapidly building prototypes for testing and further iteration. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills. Salary Range: $108,000/year to $216,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
