About The Position

Underwrite large, highly technical risks within a diverse set of industries across a variety of products including Primary, Umbrella and Excess in accordance with Arch Insurance business standards and sound underwriting practices. Manage a book to achieve organization goals via the effective utilization of assigned resources in the interpretation, implementation and achievement of these business goals.

Requirements

• Superior interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Strong customer service focus with the ability to effectively multi-task with limited direction.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Prioritizing work, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelors' Degree with exposure to Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration or Finance preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of P&C production underwriting experience.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite large, highly technical risks within a diverse set of industries across a variety of products including Primary, Umbrella and Excess in accordance with Arch Insurance business standards and sound underwriting practices.
• Manage a book of business to achieve organization goals via the effective utilization of assigned resources in the interpretation, implementation and achievement of these business goals.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with assigned brokers, agents, policyholders and industry groups.
• Participate in marketplace initiatives to expand the overall Arch brand and the specific Business Unit reputation through interface with regional customers, brokers and other industry professionals.
• Complete special projects as assigned by the RVP.
• Work independently as a member of a team while building a profitable book of business.
• Develop strong relationships with brokers in order to successfully manage our business which will require travel to producer location.
