Key Responsibilities Relying on experience and judgment, this role is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are varied in nature.

Responsibilities

Assist in meeting annual department goals for profitability, renewal retention, new business growth and rate increase.
Evaluate risks for acceptability within established underwriting guidelines.
Clearly and effectively communicate decisions with producers and effectively respond to any ensuing inquiries.
Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, producers, co-workers and any outside vendors.
Respond to submissions and servicing items within agreed upon company time frames.
Act within scope of authority and consistent with company and corporate objectives, guidelines, policies and practices.
Ensure that effective communications are maintained within area of responsibility.
Communicate and provide instruction and information to Administrative Supervisor and/or Underwriting Assistants, as required, for issuing policies and endorsements.
Pursue educational classes such as Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and/or Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), as agreed upon with management.
Additional duties and special assignments, as requested by manager.
