About The Position

The Senior sonographer is expected to perform ultrasound exams that create images needed for diagnosis. Sonography integrates scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction and compassionate care resulting in diagnostic information. Expected to recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure and exercises independent professional and ethical judgment. The senior ultrasound technologist performs daily rounds in all areas of responsibility and assists management in developing performance metrics for continuous monitoring of core department processes. The senior ultrasound technologist is responsible for the continuous, effective operation and for the continuous improvement of its activities. A clear vision for the department working in concert with the strategic goals of the hospital is necessary. Requirements

  • Implement and maintain a quality assurance program
  • Understanding of human anatomy and physiology
  • Knowledge in pathology, pharmacology, and sonography
  • Basic patient care and assessment techniques
  • High degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning techniques
  • Can perform administrative duties under the supervision of leadership.
  • Able to administer high frequency sound waves and other diagnostic techniques for medical purposes
  • Able to participate in new hire onboarding and probation process.
  • Able to train new hires and provide constructive feedback affectively.
  • Able to support all employee during the daily workflows.
  • Advance knowledge with Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in Viewpoint application
  • Able to focus on work related topics and professional objectives.
  • Able to communicate to the Radiologist directly and effectively
  • Able to communicate effectively and provide feedback to peers for growth
  • Knowledgeable in ordering departmental supplies and pharmaceuticals
  • Understands the contact process regarding hospital entities that services Radiology.
  • Completion of an accredited program in Sonography
  • Registered through RDMS, SDMS, or other comparable society
  • CPR/BLS - Basic Life Support
  • Will participate and prepare for hospital surveys
  • Experience with PACS SRIS and eMD
  • Seven (7) years' experience in sonography in an acute facility.
  • Proficient in sonography procedures
  • Knowledgeable in department supplies and ordering process
  • Able to perform administrative duties

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years' experience as a flow coordinator
  • Knowledge in word, excel, and power point
