About The Position

Responsible for handling litigation files from inception, through the entire discovery process, to the conclusion of the file. Service of pleadings, written discovery, retainment of experts, attendance at depositions, attendance at court and other hearings, and preparation of the file for trial. R esponsible for taking on trial cases handled by others and assigned to the successful candidate for the purposes of trial Responsible for communicating the status of the file regularly to claims Possess excellent academic credentials, outstanding written and oral advocacy skills, and strong software/technological skills, including competency in Word, Outlook, Google, and Westlaw.

Requirements

• Knowledge of local and state discovery rules, trial procedures, and applicable substantive law commensurate with the level of experience
• Ability to take full responsibility for files and handle a modified caseload while also trying cases
• Proven track record of trial skills and techniques
• Strong negotiation, research, and trial skills
• Ability to work in a team environment with other attorneys, adjusters, claims professionals, and support staff
• Must have a law degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
• Must have an active law license to practice in Michigan and be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
• Excellent academic credentials
• Outstanding written and oral advocacy skills
• Strong software/technological skills, including competency in Word, Outlook, Google, and Westlaw
