About The Position
The Senior Transportation Planner plays a crucial role in supporting the Palm Beach Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), also known as the Palm Beach Transportation Planning Agency (TPA). This position is integral to the mission of planning, prioritizing, and funding the transportation system in Palm Beach County, Florida. The Senior Planner will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the development of a safe, efficient, and connected multimodal transportation system. The responsibilities of this role encompass a wide range of activities, including administering local funding programs, creating detailed maps, and conducting thorough data analysis. Additionally, the Senior Planner will coordinate project reviews and delivery, serve as a liaison to a TPA advisory committee, and collaborate with partner agencies on transportation projects and initiatives that align with the TPA's vision. The role requires a strong understanding of federal and state transportation funding programs and regulations, as well as familiarity with concepts such as Complete Streets, Vision Zero, and relevant design standards. The Senior Transportation Planner will also need to be well-versed in local government comprehensive planning requirements related to transportation.
