About The Position

Tactica Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Transportation Manager for a Systems Engineering & Technical Assistance (SETA) contract supporting the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4 for the Logistics Operations Division on Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of military and commercial transportation operations in support of USASMDC mission requirements at CONUS and OCONUS locations. Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on transportation management, regulatory compliance, and movement coordination for the G-4 Logistics directorate. Develop, review, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), transportation plans, and movement orders for personnel and equipment. Coordinate with Logistics Readiness Centers (LRCs), Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), and host installation transportation offices to execute movement requirements. Manage and track transportation assets, convoy operations, and airlift/sealift requirements using Army transportation management systems. Provide advisory services to senior leadership on transportation policy, doctrine, and regulatory requirements (e.g., AR 55-series). Mentor junior transportation staff and ensure compliance with DoD, Army, GSA transportation regulations. Prepare briefings, reports, and metrics on transportation operations status for senior government officials. Manage the acquisition, procurement and contracting functions related to transportation services including freight, GSA Fleet, rail, and transportation in support of contingency, mobility, natural disaster, and humanitarian relief requirements. Ensure compliance with Army, DoD, and federal transportation regulation, polices, and directives. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in military or DoD transportation operations, management, or logistics support.
  • Prior service as an Army 88N (Transportation Management Coordinator), Warrant Officer 880A, or equivalent transportation specialty (Active Duty, Reserve, or civilian equivalent).
  • Demonstrated expertise in movement control, transportation planning, cargo documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with the Defense Transportation System (DTS), Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A), and related transportation management systems.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with experience briefing senior military and civilian leadership.
  • Active Secret security clearance required; ability to obtain higher-level clearance if required.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience supporting USASMDC, SMDC, or other Army space/missile defense organizations.
  • Experience with CONUS and OCONUS transportation coordination and contingency logistics planning.
  • Familiarity with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and Army Materiel Command (AMC) transportation processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business, or related field.
