McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Senior Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Department. This position requires a detailed understanding of transportation engineering projects, planning, analysis, and design for DOT and/or locality clients. The desired candidate would also support ongoing business development activities and strategic plan development for the region. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in hybrid remote office environment. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required.

Requirements

• 10 to 12 years of experience with planning, management, and design of transportation engineering projects
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field required
• Professional Engineer license required
• Direct experience with DOT criteria, standards, and procedures
• Business Development experience required
• Proficient at preparing technical scopes of work and price proposals and price negotiations

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage staff and understanding all aspects of design for the completion of transportation projects
• Attend project meetings and supports presentations on specific projects/concepts
• Possess well-established client relationships and continue to identify and recruit new ones, leading to procurement of work
• Active involvement with development of technical and cost proposals, including writing proposals
• Coordinates and assists with all staff necessary to complete assignments
• Provide hours, schedule, and scope for technical aspects of assignments in field of work
• Assist with managing workload and staffing needs
• Strong written communication skills
• Responsible for technical accuracy and QA/QC of work
